Our Staff

We feel our staff at NorCal Medical Research, Inc. is our greatest asset. Staff members are selected on the basis of both professional accomplishments as well as character. Each of our nurses, research coordinators and business staff are dedicated to our mission and goal, which is to provide the highest quality of medical care possible in a warm and supportive environment.

We value honesty, common sense, open communication, safety and efficiency. Our staff always goes that extra step, providing compassion and good humor as well. Many of our staff have been with us for 5, 10 and 20+ years.

Jesse Cardozo
Research Manager
Clinical Research Coordinator

Jesse Cardozo, graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.A. in Psychology and completed an MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at San Francisco State University. He began working in Clinical Research at the University of California at San Francisco as a Clinical Research Coordinator in 2000, and has been the Clinical Research Manager at Marin Endocrine Care & Research (MEC&R) in Greenbrae, CA since 2006 and has continued in this position as MEC&R became NorCal in 2022. 

After originally working in psychiatric clinical trials for smoking cessation, he has worked primarily on Endocrine trials since joining MEC&R. Providing access to the best new treatments available, at no cost to patients, has been a highlight of his employment here.

During his employment as Research Manager, he has also performed Contract/Budget negotiations, managed all interaction with Central IRB’s including submission, modification, and reporting, and supervised staff and completed site requirements for study start-up through completion.  

Originally from Florida, Jesse is an avid surfer and moved to California in 1997.

Carol Singh
Clinical Research Coordinator

Carol Singh, graduated from the Heritage College with a A.S. in Interdisciplinary Sciences and studied Biology at San Francisco State University. She began working in Clinical Research at the University of California at San Francisco at the Department of Anatomy in 2001 and joined the UCSF General Clinical Research Center in 2002. She has been a Clinical Research Coordinator at Marin Endocrine Care & Research (MEC&R) in Greenbrae, CA. since 2004, and has continued in this position as MEC&R became NorCal Medical Research in 2022.

After working at UCSF as a lab assistant helping doctors to develop new treatments for clinical research, and then moving on to clinical trials sponsored by the NIH and other companies, she has worked primarily on Endocrine trials since joining MEC&R, and now at NorCal Medical Research.

Carol has worked extensively with Eli Lilly on multiple protocols, and was invited to Lilly headquarters in Indianapolis to consult on Lilly clinical trials, and how to improve data collection and subject experience with this technology.
 
Being able to get to know and introduce patients to the best new treatments and helping them to better their health is the best part of her job at NorCal Medical Research.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Carol enjoys being able to experience its local beauty by hiking local trails.

Patricia Von Koss, RN
Clinical Research Coordinator

Patricia Von Koss, RN studied biology at San Francisco State University before moving on to the College of San Mateo to receive an AS in Nursing and BLS/CPR certification. She began working in Clinical Research at Marin Endocrine Care & Research (MEC&R) in Greenbrae CA in 1990 and has continued in this position as MEC&R became NorCal Medical Research in 2022. Patricia also holds a license as a Radiology Technician, specializing in Bone Densitometry.

Patricia has spent a good part of 2021 working on the front lines of Covid-19, working to administer vaccinations and testing in the Bay Area. She enjoys interacting with healthcare professionals and patients, briefing them on what to expect and answering any questions they have. She hopes to help people on their path to continued health. Patricia lives with her husband and her feisty terrier in Sonoma County, where she raised two children.

Sylvie Zolezzi
Marketing/Social Media Director

Sylvie Zolezzi has a bachelor’s degree from Université de Provence in Aix-en-Provence, France and a master’s degree from Columbia University in New York. She also attended the Fordham Graduate School of Business. She has 30 years of business experience (including investment and commercial banking, human resources management and real estate). She is now helping small companies with their marketing and social media strategy and implementation.

Sylvie is a staunch believer in supporting her community. She served for several years on the board of Ross Valley Women’s League and Adopt A Family of Marin, assisting both with fundraising, marketing and her expertise in best practices in board governance. 

She has been living in the Bay Area with her husband for the past 33 years and raised both her children in Marin County.

She enjoys entertaining and whipping up culinary magic for her family and friends, traveling internationally, and hiking on the trails of Marin with her dog Remi.
